After what was a slow hour or so we've had four players knocked out in a matter of minutes. First Tim Kahlmeyer went out fourteen, and not long after that Karl Stark was eliminated.
That left us with 12 players and the players redrew for the final two six-handed tables. But Mark Standerfer barely had time to sit down before he was all in with KQ against Jason Pohl's pocket Jacks. The J-7-7 flop left Mark dead to running kings or queens, and he actually had a glimmer of hope when a King came on the turn. But the river brought a 3 and Mark Standerfer was out in 12th place.
And not long after that, Brian Gates was eliminated when he held pocket threes to Johan Storakers' pocket tens. Brian didn't catch his three, and just like that he was gone too, in 11th place.
And just like that, we're down to the final ten. The average stack is 826,000, the blinds are 5,000-10,000 with a 1,000 ante, so there's a still a chance that we could see the poker equivalent of trench warfare, as these deep stacks refuse to get into serious confrontations without huge hands. Or, maybe we'll see three people bust in the next ten minutes. You never know.
